PA system
A PA (public address) system is the set-up that amplifies voices and instruments through microphones and loudspeakers so that a large audience can hear them. It was first meant for announcements in stations and stadiums. Today it serves concerts too. At a gig, the PA works as front of house for the audience, while the monitor system serves the musicians on stage.
