Konkordia Balsthal will host the Solothurn cantonal music festival in 2029

At the 124th delegates' meeting of the Solothurner Blasmusikverband (SOBV), the cantonal wind band association, on 24 October in Flumenthal, the next cantonal music festival went to Balsthal.¹² The Musikgesellschaft Konkordia Balsthal, a local wind band society, will host it on 30 June and 1 July 2029, the year of its 125th anniversary.¹

149 voting delegates and honorary members from 73 bands and regional associations took part.¹ The association has three regional associations with 73 bands and around 2000 players.¹ In 2026, 84 of them were honoured as veterans, two of them as federal honorary veterans after 70 years of active playing.¹

In 2027 the SOBV itself turns 125.¹ For the anniversary projects, the delegates approved CHF 16'000.¹ An exhibition at the HESO fair in Solothurn is being considered, if possible with a wind band day and a marching parade through the old town.¹

From now on, a band that misses the delegates' meeting without apology pays a fine of CHF 150.¹ The committee under president Ruedi Berger of Laupersdorf has been re-elected for four more years.¹

The next delegates' meeting is on Saturday, 30 October 2027, in Stüsslingen.¹ The line of places: Flumenthal, Balsthal, Solothurn, Laupersdorf, Stüsslingen.
