Severin Barmettler will head culture funding in the Canton of Lucerne from 2027

Marco Castellaneta, head of the cantonal culture office, has appointed Severin Barmettler to lead the culture funding and outreach division of Lucerne's Department of Education and Culture.¹ Barmettler currently manages the FUKA commission for the City of Lucerne, which decides on grants for individual projects, and studied classical double bass at the Bern University of the Arts.¹ Next step: Hannes Gut leaves the division in October 2026 to become managing director of the Aargauer Kuratorium, and Barmettler takes over in January 2027.¹
