The Canton of Bern awards Lo & Leduc and three other musicians 15,000 francs each

The Canton of Bern is giving its 2026 music prizes to Ludmilla Mercier, the duo Lo & Leduc, Rebecca Solari and Droujelub Yanakiew. Each prize is worth 15,000 francs.¹ The 'Coup de cœur' prize for emerging talent, worth 3,000 francs, goes to the rap collective ETO.¹

The cantonal music commission nominated and selected the winners.¹ You cannot apply for these prizes: the canton awards them every year on the commission's recommendation.² The announcement does not say which budget the prize money comes from.

This is how the canton describes the winners: Ludmilla Mercier is a director, performer and composer who combines music theatre, movement and visual elements. Lo & Leduc, that is Lorenz Häberli and Luc Oggier, have their roots in Swiss German dialect rap. Rebecca Solari performs as the character 'Fulmine' and with the electro-punk duo 'Crème Solaire'. Conductor and violinist Droujelub Yanakiew works with professionals and amateurs alike.¹
